The Shop

The museum shop sells genuine Lappish gold, jewellery, books on gold prospecting, vases and other souvenirs from the goldfields. The shop is located in the lobby of the Gold Museum, next to the ticket office. You can visit the shop without a museum ticket. 

The museum shop’s selection consists of the Gold Museum’s own products and other gold prospecting and Lapland related products. The majority of the selection is domestic, and we support local craftsmanship. Seasonal products are on sale according to the theme of the  changing exhibition. And of course the most traditional Tankavaara souvenir has not been forgotten: you can buy a bag of local gold-bearing sand and start your own journey as a gold prospector!  

By buying from the museum shop, you support the activities of the Gold Museum, such as new exhibitions, the maintenance of the collections and the preservation of the gold prospecting heritage.
